Which colleges did/do people from your high school like?

<p>Colleges most applied to in my school:
CUNY Queens, St. Johns (Queens), CUNY Hunter, CUNY Baruch, SUNY Stony Brook, CUNY Queensborough, SUNY Binghamton, Hofstra, SUNY Albany, CUNY City, CUNY Brooklyn, CUNY John Jay, Fordham, NYU, Adelphi, LIU CW Post</p>

<p>These are pretty much all the schools the bottom 50% apply to. The 35% or so above them will apply to a bunch of these schools with a few random others. The top 15% or so apply to 1 to 3 of those schools as backups and then ivies or some other top schools.</p>

<p>Popular for the decently smart kids:
BU, NYU, Fordham, SUNY Stony Brook, SUNY Bing</p>

<p>Popular for the top of the class (to apply to, that is):
Columbia, Cornell, Honors college at CUNY, NYU, Fordham, BU, BC, Rutgers, an a bunch of kids applying to UPenn, Harvard, Princeton, MIT. But my school has a pretty bad track record with top top schools. -_-</p>

<p>Last year, at my son’s high school about half the class (literally) applied to Brown. Other popular choices were BC, Georgetown, Penn, and Tufts.</p>

<p>Bu, Penn state, NYU. PEnn state, BC, PENN State, State schools, PENN STATE…With the exception of NYU, I am not really considering any of those schools</p>

<p>Basically my whole school stays in the area. SUNY Buffalo and Fredonia are popular. The smarter kids tend to go to Bing.</p>
