Which colleges do/do not superscore across the SAT with essay and the SAT without essay?

I took the SAT with essay for the first time in May and got an 8/8/8 on the essay. My score out of 1600, however, was not as high as I wanted it to be. If I retake the test in June without the essay, will colleges superscore my (hopefully) higher /1600 score from June with my essay score from May?

I read that it varies from college to college but no college explicitly mentions it on their website so I was left adrift. For reference, schools I am considering that recommend/require the essay: Colorado, Amherst, Pomona, Darthmouth

Thanks!

If a school says it requires the essay, the general rule is they ignore other schools. Best answer is to call the schools. Second best answer is to take with the essay to be safe.

I believe Amherst superscores at least the ACT (which is less common than the SAT so I’m sure they SS that also) based on the fact that my kid’s portal showed highest section scores, not highest overall.
