Which colleges does Ross most frequently lose pre-admit BBAs to?

I just saw a valedictorian at a local Catholic prep chose Ross pre-admit over Notre Dame, but he is in-state, so ND was likely more than 2x the cost. And my counselor thinks a student last year chose Ross over Vanderbilt, but again, in-state tuition break. I think Ross is 60-75% out of state students, so with OOS tuition, I’m curious which colleges pre-admits choose over Ross. I think everyone agrees Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, Columbia, Dartmouth edge out Ross, but what about those in the 5-20 range? What about Chicago and Northwestern? Penn Arts & Sciences? Brown? Georgetown? Duke?

I doubt you’ll find the answer on the Michigan forum. People on here mostly chose Michigan.

Accurate numbers…you’re not going to find but typically people choose Ross for the reason you mention over all the schools you mention, its A LOT CHEAPER in state. So unless you are financially unconstrained through FA or otherwise then you would have to look at EACH of those other institutions to see what they offer. Clearly you don’t quite understand what your asking (in general you do) because some of the other schools you mention simply don’t have an undergraduate business school (e.g. if you go to Harvard, your not attending HBS, same with UChicago, MIT, etc…)

@CU123 What do you mean I don’t know what I’m asking? Far from the majority applying to Ross are business school or bust. They’d be fine studying economics or whatever at an Ivy or something. It seems most of the aggressive kids just want to get into finance, and many colleges in the top 20 without business schools are still leading Wall Street and consulting feeders.

Ross is a school of business inside a University, many of these other colleges have no such equivalent…so if you wanted to make a direct comparison for jobs on Wall Street (and subsequently equate economics to business) then you need to ask that question, which is different from the one you originally asked.

@intparent That’s true but people can be honest and say they got rejected from X or would have preferred X but Ross turned out great too? Or I was a student at Ross and turned down X because ___. Things like that. Most people are pretty honest and fair, I think.

You would do better to ask this question on a general forum rather than a school-specific one.

@CU123 Which colleges do OOS applicants choose over Ross pre-admit is a straight forward question.

@JenJenJenJen which general forum? I just posted it in college search and it was immediately deleted? sorry new here, thanks

Oh. @2019adviceseeker – maybe your question was moved by a mod to this section, but that would have been a mistake on the mod’s part. People who go to specific school’s pages are usually curious about that school, or are already there/graduated and are experts regarding that one school. They certainly won’t be perusing this section because they went somewhere else after being accepted to it. I think your first guess was right, general college questions is where your question makes more sense.

No data for this. Pre-admit to Ross on a large scale began last year. Prior to that, pre-admit was rare.
