Which colleges love leadership experience and dedicated EC's?

My GPA is pretty good considering the school I go to, but it's not GREAT. My school despises giving out perfect 4.0's in any class, so getting anything close to that is near impossible when considering unweighted.

But I have a lot of EC's I showed passion and dedication to, not just some random club that I founded and gave everybody an officer position but truly "did nothing" (my school is full of these clubs lol). Additionally, I have a lot of leadership experience, leading groups of up to 300 people.

Which colleges really eat that stuff up and easily let it forgive a not-too-stellar GPA?

I know Emerson does, but my parents won't let me go there. xD

bumpity bump

I know Claremont McKenna really focuses on leadership.

^I would recommend CMC, but I don’t know how strong your academics actually are.

Are you a 3.1 student who doesn’t think they have what it takes or a 3.8 student who is worrying irrationally that their record sucks?

Smack in the middle. 3.6, rounded a tad up. Neither a place to be really worrying, nor a place to feel secure :/

If it helps, all classes I have are IB and my school is known for grading harshly.

Leadership is stupid at my school; half of the “leaders” at clubs are just “leaders” for college apps, not because they actually lead. Infact, they do NOTHING for the clubs, but colleges won’t see a difference between them and a person that actually leads beacuse the college app is so superficial. It’s not like they will interview club members. And guess where those people go to college, HYPSMC.!!!

Like George Bush. They are really incompatent.

When you attach your resume you can explain all the things you did and it’d become really obvious that you actually worked hard and had a passion, rather than those that will just say “President” with no explanation of how they worked for the community. There IS a difference.
