Something like that...

wait...ur applying to catholic university and brandeis, i mean what ru, one is primarily a jewish place and the other is well hence its name, catholic.

Yes, because you're not allowed to think outside your faith and just look at colleges that have ideal programs for you. Besides, it's not as if Catholic-Jewish relationships are all that uncommon.

Hard to rank right now. Only definites so far are Barnard, Smith, Bates, Trinity (those are the big ones), Cornell, Wells, Vassar, and Mount Holyoke. Already in at UConn.

collegekid: I'm Roman Catholic, but the curriculum at Brandeis is very good and I like the school, they have a mosque, church, and synagogue all on campus, and, coincidentally, none of them cast a shadow on one another at any point in the day.

Whoa, whoa, wait...how is Wellesley a match for you, but Tufts and Barnard are reaches? Wellesley is the 4th-ranked liberal arts college in the country and the hardest of the women's colleges to get into. That needs to be moved up to the reatch column for you, probably swapped with Tufts, unless your ancestors founded the place or something.

Wellesley accepts 40+% of applicants and my SAT scores are in their range. (Barnard accepts only 27% of students and is harder to get into than Wellesley.)

Tufts accepts 24% of applicants, and my SAT math score is below their 25th %tile.

I actually removed Tufts from the list because I'm rather borderline about it.

Yale
Columbia
Duke
Northwestern (HPME)
ND
WUSTL
U-Mich

The demands placed on Wellesley applicants, however, are much higher. It really is considered the more selective school. I'm not saying it's impossible to get in, just that you shouldn't be surprised if you end up not getting in there and do get into Barnard.

I know several girls from my school who have gotten into Wellesley whose stats and EC's are below mine, so I think I will be alright.

i'm considering wellesley also! I have a 29 act and considering wellesley a match. Is that safe to do so?? taking most rigorous courses 10 ap by end of senior year, 4.15 weighted gpa, ap scholar with distinction, don't have much of a hook unless you consider below 20,000 income and overcoming many academic disadvantages a hook (1st to go to college) (tough personal high school life)

I wouldn't deem it safe to consider Wellesley a "match." I've seen candidates with great stats and get either waitlisted/rejected. Wellesley looks for well-rounded individuals, not perfect grades and test scores. I think that in that light, it's a highly selective school.

is 29 a decent score for wellesley though?

Yes, I believe it is or around its average for ACT scores.

yes! 10 characters
