Which combination of old/new SAT, PSAT, ACT for rising junior?

If you didn’t guess from the discussion title, I’m a rising junior whose guidance counselor has been of no use when I ask about SAT and PSAT for next year. Currently, my plan is to take the SAT before the change as well as the new PSAT, but is it even allowed to take both in the same year? How would I change my study approach from one to the other? Where do I even get practice material for the new §SAT? What about the ACT-- is there a ‘practice’ ACT? I’ve heard of ACT Aspire, but I have no idea of what it is. What’s the best way to approach all these tests?

On a completely different note, I got a 182 without studying when I took the PSAT this year. How difficult would it be to get that to 200?

My son is a sophomore, and he is taking the PSAT in October and the SAT in November. I would suggest that plan for you, PSAT first.

My other kid went up 35 points on the PSAT with minimal studying either time. Yes, I think you could get 200 if you studied therefore.
