Which dining plan are you getting?

To current students: Is there big difference between each? Can't you always
just add up more points if you need them?

I'm planning to get Plan H, is that good?

I think I'm just gonna get G and add more money as needed.

^^ Amen

The only difference between the different plans I think is the amount of food points. Seeing as how I could always add more, I just went with the lowest priced plan my freshmen year.

What's the purpose of dining plan H and I?
When you add money later, do you have to
pay extra fee or sth?

I'm getting Plan H, so I probably won't have to add points (with Plan G I probably would.)

there is no extra fee. unless you are sure you will need a lot of food points (aka you dont like marketplace food....which you really cant be sure of since you havent experienced it yet...) then there is no point. ive worked with the dining services committee and there are tons of appeals from people every semester asking to go down to a smaller food plan because they didnt use enough food points on campus. maybe you know that you eat a lot so you want more. but personally, i eat A LOT and i always got the lowest and just added food points when i ran out. its really easy and super fast...you just go to the duke card website and add any amount and they charge it to your bursar's account. if you really like marketplace, you might not even end up using too many food points since those meals are included (except for lunch, unless you dont get breakfast and get that equivalency toward your lunch).
