I have two essays, one is better than the other. Should I use that as the CommonApp essay or the Yale supplemental essay? Thanks!

Probably doesn't matter. You still have a few days to try to make the weaker one better.

Well, since you can't edit your commonapp once it's sent in and the admissions board will review both, I'd put my better one as the common app essay and the lesser one with the yale supplement.

good luck!

Wwoody: You can actually create different versions of the common app after all.

^yea but then you're screwed for teacher recs because of those annoying little numbers at the bottom -_-

So if i send one college the common app, i cannot change my main essay for other colleges? im confused..

you can create duplicate commonapps

Wait, why are you screwed for teacher recs?

I created an alternate version of the CA for Yale, but I don't know if I used its forms, or my prior CA forms for my teacher recs...not ANOTHER thing to freak out about!!

You're not screwed. I emailed Yale, and they said that they disregard the numbers at the bottom of the Common App forms (as do many other colleges).

Whew. Excellent.

Or you can put the other ID in the additional information and state that all your letters of recommendation(cite specific name of teacher) were sent with the other ID(cite the ID).

They probably care for both equally, since they're going to be reading both anyways, I dont see why they'd favour one over the other.
