Hello everyone! I am Junior and I am taking four AP classes this year (English, USH, Psy, and Spanish Lang). I was thinking of self-studying one or two tests because not only am I a motivated person, but I think I will have enough time.

I suck at math/chem/physics, so those are out. I think I'll have enough time to score well on two. However. my only chance at National Scholar is self-studying 3 other tests. I am very fluent in Spanish, almost to a perfect level, so Spanish Lang is a breeze. Is Spanish Literature harder? What does it test on? Is National Scholar even that important for top colleges?

My past AP experience only includes of WHAP, which I got a 5 in.

I’ve heard that Spanish Literature is a killer since there are so many required readings. However, that’s coming from my teacher, who’s told me since Spanish I that I shouldn’t bother with AP Spanish since it is too hard and I’ll never have a chance at passing (I’ve had the highest score in the state on the national spanish exam every year since 7th grade and she STILL thinks I can’t do it).

Human Geography is an exam that everyone self-studies, so I think it looks like you’re grade-grubbing if you take it. Psych is an easy one to study for that is actually a legit exam.

European History wasn’t too hard of an exam, and I got a 5 even though I hate history. That would be a good one to self-study.

@ibfailure: I had to take the AP Psych class since I needed a semester class and it is one in my school. It was either that or a dumb regular class.

@Navy: Thanks. I’ll research the Spanish Lit. I can always just take the class next year and be prepared for it.

I can probably do European History and Human Geo. Sure, HG may seem like a cheap self-study, but that can’t hurt my chances :B Also, I’ve been interested in Comparative Government. I’m into other country’s politics and stuff. I’ll look into it.
