UC Davis? It's possible, but unlikely. Wall Street tends to recruit top tier students from top tier universities (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Haas, Stanford, ETC). Especially in this grim economy, landing a gig on Wall St. is pretty tough. It also depends on your career path. I haven't talked to many, or have I heard of many that have transferred from Davis to Wall St. Again, it's possible, but tough.

LOL, the career paths of a lot of people I know at UCD is what prompted me to try and transfer to UCB, sweet jesus I can dream at least...

But for serious, UCB has recruiters from Goldman Sachs, MS, ML, etc, all of the top firms...

Davis has people like Target, and Walgreen's show up to the job fairs.

Yes, I am praying my transfer goes through :)

A close friend of mine graduated from UCD a few years ago with a major in econ and a minor in communications. He ended up selling financial securities for a little over a year (seemed like the most miserable job on earth to me). He did ultimately end up getting a job at cisco though in some type of accounting capacity. This was really a big motivation for me to switch my major from econ to engineering.... remember econ is not a business or finance degree and most of the top financial jobs are just not really going to be available to econ majors.
