i am interested in finance and want to work on wall street.

after looking at davis managerial econ program, their are very similar courses to business programs at csu’s. i am not sure whether i want to major in economics or man econ. i like the courses in man. econ but researched on here saying how hard it is.

i figure i major in econ and take the finance related classes in man econ im interested.

what are you opinions and advice.
what looks better to employers.
any wall street firms recruit grads or interns. (i saw fisher investment and franklin templeton on the website)

thx cali guy, i've been wondering the same thing. have you ever thought about transfering to like CAL or maybe some other top business school after like 2 years or something?

If I understand you correctly you will be transferring into UCD. You will be meeting with academic advising and this is when you should ask your questions. Advising will be best able to look at what you have already taken and determine what major you are eligible for. Additionally go over to the internship office and look into what they have available for you.

i am transfer student from a csu business program into uc davic pre-managerial economics. I still have to finish a few pre-req before entering the major.

i would like to transfer to CAL or UCLA but I wouldn't mind staying at UCD. I got rejected from both schools this past year so I'll see what happens next year.

If you are entering UCD as a junior I don't think you can transfer again...and I also don't think that you need to.

Campus Organizations for those interested in Business:

Alpha Kappa Psi
Delta Sigma Pi
Associated Students of Management (UCD Graduate School of Management)
Finance and Investment Club (FIC)
Hi-Tech Entrepreneurs
Junior Investors and Entrepreneurs

There are a myriad of opportunities at UCD. It's up to you to take advantage of them. :)

If you can still transfer, transfer to Haas if you can. Haas is miles ahead of UCLA business economics, and UCLA's business economics is only a little better than UC Davis imo.
Also...no offense to anybody in any of these above organizations but I never saw them to be that useful. I felt that a lot of these organizations get a lot of members and then their officers end up getting good jobs, not so much the members (but I haven't had that much experience with this so don't take my word for it).

thanks everyone you guys have been really helpful. i'm waiting for Haas this Wednesday but I not getting my hopes up.
