For my intended major, I am required to take MATH 2043 (Survey of Calculus), 2053 (Finite Math) or 2554 (Calculus I). I’m trying to decide which math to take for my freshman year as part of the orientation survey. I qualify ACT wise for all three of these (31 in Math) but I have narrowed it down to 2043 or 2053 since I’m not majoring in a math-y subject and really don’t particularly enjoy it. Which of these two classes is easier? I want something manageable and enjoyable for my first semester and I can’t quite figure out which one to take!

My information may be outdated but Finite Math required you to do pretty much everything online and it was a huge pain when helping my friends in it (4 years ago). Unless you’re dead set against it I still recommend you take 2554 Calculus I in case you change your major or decide you want to take some other classes of interest that require it. For instance University Physics 1 requires Calculus.
