which grades EXACTLY do colleges look at

i've had C's and C+'s for semester grades...but at the end of the year, all four quarters combined with my finals and midterms, end up being B+'s and A's.

So will colleges see the C's on my transcript....and if they do, will they care?

My school only shows semester grades, first and second. It really just depends on the school/system.

Get a transcript from your school.

Colleges will look at every grade on it.

to find out just request a copy of your transcript. My school only shows fina; grades, not semester grades so it depends on your school.

okay i see. so what matters most to them?

Depends on the colleges.
Like I know Caltech mostly cares about math/science grades.

Grades in academic classes matter most i.e. math, English, science, history, foreign language.

def. grades in academic classes like dntw8up said, unless you were going to college for the fine arts then i would assume they would look at those grades
