Even if my GPA has potential to be increased after 1st trimester senior year grades?

After personally inquiring in the matter, I withdraw my arguments. I concede to Alexandre. He is right. There is virtually no difference between the prestige of Northwestern and UMichigan. Kudos. However, Northwestern may have an edge in education due to low student:teacher ratio. Also, the average student in Northwestern is likely more intelligent than the average Michigan student. But still, it doesn’t matter.

OP, pick cheapest university. Female attractiveness should factor into your decision as well. Good luck.

^ Did you ask some of your MIT professors? ;)

MrPrince, I think many of your arguments are valid. I still don’t understand the mentality of attacking other CCers. The only thing I find ironic is that you had a post saying not to demean colleges, and yet you did!

Uhhh…FEMALE attractiveness? I’m a girl and happen to like guys…

I don’t attack other CCers. I only attack RML because its funny. Everyone attacks rjkofnovi and lesdiablesbles so that’s no big deal.

I demean other universities in retaliation…but its not effective so I’ll try to not do so.
And if you’re female…choose based on female attractiveness anyway. Its good for the guys.
jk

“The only thing I find ironic is that you had a post saying not to demean colleges, and yet you did!”

Is that what he did? I put him on ignore so long ago I only know what he is saying based on responses from others.

I’m not saying you attack them necessarily. I wassaying people ganged up on you. How do these people become so notorious!? And do you go to MIT?

^^ Prince, so you’re regretting your decision to go to MIT then, right?

lol ucbchemegrad that was a low blow =)

personally, i would go to northwestern in a heartbeat.

HAHAHAHA, my thoughts exactly

liv4Physics, you need to understand. There are two groups of people here on CC.
- People who believe private schools just below HYPSM (eg Columbia, UPenn, Chicago, the notorious Duke, Brown) are better than public schools (Berkeley, UCLA, Michigan) and are in their own level of eliteness.

2) People who believe the next 30 schools on the USNWR after HYPSM are equal in prestige and eliteness including public universities.

The battle’s been going on and on. And trust me, according to CC standards, I haven’t been ganged on at all…

Heh, I find plenty of hot females in Wellesley and BU. ;)

I wasn’t trying to offend you…

Apply to both. If you’re accepted at both schools, then you can start weighing the pros and cons (and the financial aid packages!). Right now, you’re counting your chickens before they hatch.

If by “prestige”, you mean name recognition, then I’d probably say NU is more prestigious. This is highly regional, however, and if I were given the choice to attend either school, I’d likely choose to attend UMich over NU.

Only choose UMich for extreme financial reasons; Northwestern is far and above the better overall school.

^Please. And for your own safety, HIDE immediately your school of affiliation. Don’t start Modern Warfare Duke II. We already have lesdiablesbles running about. Don’t say things like this without any…evidence…

hears knuckles cracking

MW2, what exactly qualifies as “extreme” financial reasons? I know my dad especially wants me to go to Michigan because he’s always been pretty cheap, and albeit the fact he’s retired, my household income level is still high enough to most likely not qualify for any need-based financial aid. Does the mere fact that he’s retired account for something in terms of colleges’ EFCs?

@MrPrince

I already posted “evidence” in the form of stats ages ago on this forum but a mod (I suspect Alexandre because of his trolliness) unscrupulously deleted my post, I presume because it unequivocally proved him and rjkofnovi (aka the world’s biggest ■■■■■ and the one who single handedly cause me to cross Michigan and Berkeley off my college list) wrong.

Anyways I just wanted to weigh in as my earlier posts (which were literally just a totally relevant comparison of stats) were deleted.

99% of the educated world would say that Northwestern is the overall more prestigious university although Michigan may beat it in some areas. I don’t feel like posting stats again because someone will probably delete them.

“Only choose UMich for extreme financial reasons; Northwestern is far and above the better overall school.”

Another Dukie heard from. Such arrogance, and ignorance.
