Which is harder to get into, ND or Georgetown?

I have heard of some who get into Notre Dame but rejected at Georgetown, and others who get into Georgetown but rejected at ND.

Any opinions?

i think georgetown has a lower acceptance rate, but they are pretty close. i think georgetown is 21% and ND is in the high 20's.

Georgetown has a lower percentage acceptance rate and technically higher standards. I got into ND EA and deferred from Georgetown EA..so I'd say georgetown is harder to get into..although technically (according to US News) Notre Dame is a better school

The acceptance rate this year is going to be lower than it's been in past years.

I think for Georgetown it depends what school/major you are applying to. Certain schools like their School of Foreign Service (which is so unique and the applicant pool very self selective) are harder to get into then some other majors. I was accepted into both EA with the same essay too...so I'd say about even.

Congrats! Which one are you going to and why?

I think Georgetown is slightly harder to get into but ND is ranked slightly better in pretty much any ranking you look at. I think the difference is location, location, location. I love ND, no doubt, but would you rather be in DC or South Bend, IN?

We are on the west coast and ND is just not on the kids' radar. Santa Clara and Boston College are far more popular for kids who want a Catholic school.

I don't know if it's the location or the reputation as being more conservative.

"I was accepted into both EA with the same essay too"

jenn, me too!! lol i used the same essay for everything! i'm probably going to choose ND though because it just feels like home even though georgetown has a better location and the human science program (what i would major in) there is awesome. georgetown is definitely my second choice though if there is something that i really don't like about ND when i visit again.
