Which is most important for a transfer?

I’m a Biochemistry major at a different institution and am struggling with the small, liberal arts and sciences environment. The school I currently attend is quite strong and has amazing faculty, however, the course catalog is extremely limited and there are few research opportunities on campus.

Unfortunately, my GPA will probably be a 3.4 when I apply, which is below the mean for BU… however, I have a quite impressive CV that spans several years. Which does the admissions committee prefer to see? A stronger GPA or a more significant commitment to extracurricular experiences?
