There really is no clear way to answer this question without giving a biased opinion. There are stereotypes that people associate with each of the colleges, but those don’t always hold true (as they are just stereotypes). For that reason, I really encourage you to visit the campus and find out yourself. If this isn’t possible, then try not to ask such a broad question and expect a perfect answer. If you try to break it up in other questions, then THAT will give you the best answer.

There’s a clear answer: Porter
Hahaha just kidding. But seriously, if there was one “best” college, don’t you think everyone would want to be in it? It totally depends on your personality, which is pretty much what MidnightGolfer said.

Definitely Crown. haha :)

With the new dining halls and apartment/dorms, I would imagine that Porter and Stephenson are the ‘best.’ This is very subjective, however. I know many people that like Porter because it has provides the best college experience, while others prefer Oaks because it is the most diverse. I definitely suggest visiting and checking out the dining halls.

Oakes is cool. They are really big on community there.

Stevenson/cowell dining hall is definitely a favorite on the east side!

I visited UCSC countless times and personally I like college 9 and 10 since they are new so new facilites and stuff :)

I’m currently a freshman at UCSC. I’m at stevenson and i love it! Personally, if we’re talking about dining halls here though i’m gonna have to go with merill/crown! They have the most diverse foods its so yummy! But DON’T choose your college based on the dining hall, i go to all four (porter/kresge is closed for now, but will be open later) ALL the time.
