Which language would you learn if you had to choose

The Germen language is sexy

I was gonna ask you lablondie are you Scandinavian...then I realized that you were from Minnesota and you have blonde hair...my question answered itself

pretty much, yeah... my breakdown is

7/16 Norwegian
1/4 Finnish
3/16 Swedish
1/16 German
1/16 Bohemian

you're 87.5% Scandinavian =-o

i'm 0% Scandinavian

scandis are cool...

they are...jealous a little

Personally I would learn French over German, because I would have more opportunities to use French than German. Living in Canada, having a knowledge of French opens up more job opportunities, since French is the other official language. Also in terms of travel, many countries have French as a main language (and especially if somewhere down the line I decide I want to volunteer with an organization such as MSF, French would likely help me to communicate with the locals and other staff).

glucose: Between French and German, I'd go with French. German's a little rough in my opinion. Throwing Japanese into the mix? I'd do that over French and German.

I really like French, but if I were to choose another language to learn it would be Russian. Russia would be awesome to visit, it sounds awesome, and I could listen to early James Bond villains without translations.

**** french and german. learn latin

Definitly not latin. why learn a dead language? I don't plan on becoming the pope

I would want t learn italian, being italian, but would probably end up learning spanish, as I will be living in la

ya, i don't think latin is gonna be a top choice anytime soon

i would learn korean. mostly because i spend my free time watching korean dramas and listening to their music. and half my friends speak it.

otherwise spanish.. so i can bring those grades back up =(

Both of them, German is easier and more serious but French sounds awesome.

To answer the OP, I would choose French. No reason.

I am already fluent in French, so German. But I actually want to learn German so I can read non-translated works by German/German-speaking authors and get a full sense of what they were trying to convey. German specifically strikes me as a language with a lot of nuances and meaning. It is ugly, though.

I prefer the sound of German to the sound of French.

Well Swedish does sound like German

German because it's useful when going to oktoberfest.

French is prettier and more widely used.
