Which looks better: US or World History?

Say I can get a 800 on both, which one looks better?

Better for what purpose? A particular major, perhaps? World Hx might look good for an International Relations major, American Hx might look especially good for a pre-law kid. Otherwise, I don’t see a big advantage one way or another.

I’m majoring in chemistry. xD Which one would most impress adcoms?

I would imagine that it would be advised that you take the one that would yield a “better looking/representative” score :]

I think it is a net even for a Chem major to score 800 on US or World Hx.

Impress Adcoms with your 800s in math and science instead of worrying about Hx.

Whichever one you can get a higher score in is the one that will look better.

^ I can get a 800 in both. :)

can you enlighten us how you plan to get 800 on the world history?
i have not had world history in school and learning thousands of years of world history is very difficult, especially since college board does not really say what we need to know

I took AP World History (a rigorous class at my school). I had a 50 question multiple choice test every single week.

If you really could get an 800 on both, why not take both? :)

they’re both equally impressive to admissions counselors. Honestly, I don’t see how one can be more “impressive” than the other.

I’m already taking 3 tests in June (Math II, Chem, History).

Just pick one, it doesn’t matter if you can get an 800 in both.

^ I will. Thanks everyone.

How can you study for AP WORLD HISTORY??
I NEED HELP

Read your textbook and take practice tests.

Practice writing from historical documents.

get the all SAT subject tests book that CB put out and take both the World and US History tests in it. i don’t think it’s fair to assume that you can just get 800 on both. the question types and knowledge tested isn’t necessarily the same as AP. just take whichever one you feel more comfortable with on the practice tests

take neither. instead, do physics, chem, math.
