Which Major for Versatility?

I'm planning to have a career in tech entrepreneur, consulting, sales and trading, or quant finance.

I have narrowed my choices down to either:

Electrical Engineering with a CS minor

or

Joint major in CS and Math.

The latter would give me more flexibility but I have mixed opinions as to which is better suited.

With that being said, a MFE or MBA is very possible in the future.

Choose the one you find most interesting. That will ensure that you do your best academically.

Have you considered Econ with a CS minor? Or Supply Chain Mgt? They would give you more flexibilty on coursework for your non-STEM interests.

Either one should give a solid quantitative background for Financial Engineering. With an EE degree, you could do most of the jobs that a CS major could do, plus you would qualify for Electrical Engineering jobs. That is if your quant career didn’t work out.
