Which major is easier to get accepted to?UF

I know it depends on the school, I'm specifically talking about University of Florida. If anyone knows can someone please tell me?
I'm already a reach student for the school and I didn't want to hurt my chances anymore by applying for a major that they may not accept me with.
For example, I want to major in Animal Science, Bio, or MicroBio, however I've heard it's easier to get accepted if you apply for business for another "easier" major. PLEASE HELP! Any information is welcome!!!

Bumppppp please

Do UF suck for business to the extent business is easier to get into than bio/animal science? At any school with a half-decent undergraduate B-school, the B-school will be more selective than bio/animal science.

UF has pretty good everything… I’m confused as to what I should do…

I’m not sure whether UF has quotas based on what you’re intended major is. Most colleges don’t care, but I could be wrong.

I knew that at CSUs and, to a greater extent still, Canadian colleges (my Canadian alma mater is a college where you can apply for both “reach-for-anyone” and “open-admissions” majors), intended majors influenced selectivity.

But, at most colleges I know of in the US, other than CSUs, the majors that are significantly harder to get into are business and engineering-related ones.

Thank you! I would have never known. I may go animal science then. :)

Your intended major only matters if you’re a transfer student at UF. As a freshman, it’s not a factor used in admissions.

With that being said, you may find some indirect ways that your major may impact admissions.

If you apply to IA (Innovation Academy), you would be limited to the majors that are part of that program.

Another example would be the engineering program that UF has setup with Santa Fe CC, where you take the first semester or two at the CC, before auto transferring to UF.

Good Luck!

Thanks so much! I was so worried that I wouldn’t get accepted because of the major I had chosen! :)
