Hello, I am a High School senior soon to be graduating in the summer. I am applying for college, however, I am unsure of what my major should be. I know I want to be a physician when I grow up, perhaps a pediatric surgeon. I love biology but I am more interested in anatomy and physiology, I am currently taking an anatomy/physiology class in HS. Unfortunately, there is no anatomy nor physiology major available at the college I wish to attend.
I also find psychology very fascinating. I took Psychology AP my junior year and received a 4 on my exam. At the moment I am leaning towards majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biology mainly because the courses I must take in order to get my B.A. in Psychology seem more interesting to me than the courses I will have to take in order to receive my B.A. in Biology.
How would my major and minor affect my medical school application? Would they prefer I major in Biology and minor in Psychology?

You can major in anything and go to medical school as long as you complete the med school prerequisites. Choose something you like and can excel in.

Also, there’s no reason why you can’t take extra classes in either subject, as you see fit, regardless of which is officially your major or minor (as long as those classes are restricted to majors only). I do recommend that you get a really solid background in biology, since most of your classes in medical school be specialized biology courses.
