I came to Engineering section because both actuary and engineering are math-intensive.

My current school does not offer a degree in actuarial science, but it does offer a combined major of economics/math, which is pretty much a BA Economics but with several more math and stats classes. In the catalog, it says that I need to take a couple advanced math classes from this list:

Mathematics 106 Systems of Ordinary Differential Equations

Mathematics 107 Partial Differential Equations

Mathematics 114 Introduction to Financial Mathematics

Mathematics 117 Advanced Linear Algebra

Mathematics 145/L Chaos Theory

Mathematics 194 Senior Seminar

Applied Mathematics and Statistics 114 Introduction to Dynamical Systems

Applied Mathematics and Statistics 131 Introduction to Probability Theory

Applied Mathematics and Statistics 132 Statistical Inference

Applied Mathematics and Statistics 147 Computational Methods and Applications

Applied Mathematics and Statistics 162 Design and Analysis of Computer Simulation Experiments

I know that only two isn't enough to become a successful actuary, but, if any of you DO have some knowledge about the field, then please respond your thoughts on which (not all or two or three) courses you would recommend. Thanks
