Which majors have the highest/lowest GPAs?

I was wondering if anyone had a list of average GPAs across different majors... just as a way to measure the difficulty of certain majors compared to others. Yes I know it's not very accurate but I'd like to see it anyways...

The list can be from a single school or multiple schools or whatever. Thanks.

At Penn, in 2001, the average grade for Hummanities classes was 3.5, the average grade for Social Sciences classes was 3.3, and the average for Natural sciences was about 3.05.

In terms of actual majors at graduation, it tends to even out since people take classes outside of their majors.

that's what i thought... i figured natural science majors would have the lowest GPAs... do they have a breakdown major by major?

At one large private university, the average grades given by faculty from lowest grades to highest:

computer programming
physics
economics
mathematics
computer science
accounting
history
art history
sociology
political science
chemistry
electrical engineering
marketing
biology
management
finance
communications
philosophy
psychology
computer engineering
fine art
mechanical engineering
English
foreign languages
film
anthropology
industrial engineering

If this doesn't make sense to you, keep in mind that smarter students enroll in harder majors. Course difficulty and student ability offset each other to some extent.

economics as the lowest grades?!? hmmm thats weird...ive always heard it was generally easy (at least easier than the maths and sciences)

Without a doubt, education majors have it EASY
