which matters more for CAL

so now that we are less than 2 weeks away from the decisions, what do you guys think matters more for Cal - SAT or grades...especially for an in-state engineering major

i think that grades would matter simply because the SAT is one test versus 2 years, but i could be (and mostly am) wrong

hopefully you are right..my grades r reallly high..my SAT is okay..

GRADDEESSZZeroSuitSamusZSSZSS.

However, the past is in the past. Don't worry about it and just pray to whatever god you believe in.

yea my gpa was a 4.3 and i had a 1950 SAT so i guess we shall see in the coming days.

yea 4.6, 2090 SAT. hopefully they weight the grades more.

Grades of course. Again, look at the common data set:

<a href="http://cds.berkeley.edu/pdfs/PDF%20wBOOKMARKS%2006-07.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://cds.berkeley.edu/pdfs/PDF%20wBOOKMARKS%2006-07.pdf</a></p>

GPA is "very important," whereas standardized test scores are just "important."

However, high test scores tend to be very common for those accepted to engineering.

By the way, it's Cal, not CAL.

It's CAL if you're really excited about it. ;)

Go Bears!!!

I'd have to say grades matter more, though SAT follows closely behind.

Grades. Many of my fellow EECS majors don't necessarily have the highest SAT scores (say, 2300+ combined), but this is mostly due to the verbal and writing portions. Of course, a solid math background is necessary for any engineering discipline.
