WHICH New York School?!

<p>Ok so i'm an international student from Canada and my previous SAT scores have been ranging from 530-600 max, I want to go to NYU for journalism but it's really hard to get in. I'm considering the following schools:
NYU<br>
Fordham University Lincoln Centre Campus
CUNY: Baruch College
Hunter College
Barnard College </p>

<p>If you know useful information on any of these schools besides acceptance rate and SAT ranges (I already know those) LET ME KNOW PLEASE!</p>

<p>P.S. I'm going to be living in the dorm or with my sister in nyc/manhattan.</p>

<p>The CUNYs are commuter schools and have severely limited housing. </p>

<p>Are you considering Canadian schools at all? Many of the top Canadian schools share many characteristics with NYU but cost far less, and may have much better academics.</p>

<p>I don’t have many options outside of new york since my sister is there my parents want me to live with her my second or third year!</p>

<p>In the US, law is a graduate program, not an undergrad program.</p>

<p>Barnard and NYU are very reachy. What about PACE?</p>

I want to aim higher than Pace, I heard it’s one of the easiest schools in get into in new york. Also I haven’t taken the actual SAT test yet (im taking one in a week) then again in a couple months so I have time to prepare.</p>

<p>ps i have 80+ volunteer hours if that helps</p>

<p>It is important to apply to safety and match schools, not just reach schools. It is hard to classify them until you know your actual SAT scores.</p>

<p>You should look into Syracuse if you are interested in journalism. Although I realize you said you needed to be near NYC. So just research which school has the best rep for journalism. Your major doesn’t matter that much for law school.</p>

<p>thanks! I just checked it out. Syracuse would be perfect if it was closer to nyc/manhattan! Is anyone familiar with Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts? It just came up on collegeboard so I was curious</p>

NYU
Fordham University Lincoln Centre Campus
CUNY: Baruch College
Hunter College
Barnard College </p>

<p>NYU, Barnard and Fordham will require high stats. Consider Columbia too!
Hunter is better for medical and Baruch is better for business.</p>

<p>thank you so much! I just thought Columbia is waaaay too reachy but I’ll have to see after my actual SAT scores come out. I really want to get into either Baruch, NYU, or Fordham!</p>

<p>Barnard, NYU, and even Fordham are reaches with your SAT scores. I might also look into Eugene Lang College at The New School.</p>
