For merit, I know that UIC won’t probably give you aid, especially out of state. But people in my school (2 actually) got good merit aid from Loyola and the second one needed need based aid and she told me that she was happy with her package from Loyola (She also applied to UIC and from what she says, Loyola’s need based aid was better than UIC’s). Depaul gives out good merit-based aid too but I have no idea of their need based. Northwestern, I’m sure they will do good on the need based aid, but I think u have to be a genius to get merit aid.

From personal experience, I can tell you that Northwestern does not give any merit money outside of a 2,000 dollar per year National Merit Finalist award. BC does not give any money except for one scholarship. BU gives a lot of merit aid.

For Merit Aid, Fordham is BY FAR the most generous.

I remember applying there and not having any need for money…and them giving me $25k per year simply because I scored pretty well on my SATs/ACTs.

Fordham is the most generous. The Pierre list might just be financial aid, but you ARE asking about merit.

“I remember applying there and not having any need for money…and them giving me $25k per year simply because I scored pretty well on my SATs/ACTs.”

Seems like this is a case of personal experience.

^^ that’s actually pretty common. I knew 12 other people who applied, and of that twelve, 10 got big money like me.
Same with Tulane and offering big bucks to just about any student that scores over a 30 on the ACT.

Both of these schools are pretty desperate to reel in high-scorers and achievers.

edit: and it sounds like you have either YET to apply to college, or haven’t applied to colleges in a long time if you didn’t know Fordham was very generous with merit money.
