I am a member of the Class of 2025, planning on majoring in biology in the fall, and was wondering which of the schools I have applied to have the best programs for it. I assume the bigger schools like UMass have more resources, but I think I’d prefer smaller class sizes with more access to professors, so maybe a smaller school would be more suitable. I’m having a hard time deciding where to go, so any input about these schools, in general, would be great. Thanks!
I’ve been accepted to:
UMass Amherst
Fairfield University
Quinnipiac University
Stonehill College
Saint Anselm College
Simmons University
University of New Hampshire
My son is a junior business major at Fairfield. I know that due to the increased quality and popularity of their nursing program they have invested in their science programs like biology and chemistry. It is a small school but not too small. Class sizes are small and there’s lots of interactions with your professors. Some things to consider. Housing is guaranteed and required all 4 years (seniors can enter lottery to move off campus). Dorms are all located on campus so you get to know a lot of students and it’s a close knit community. Town of Fairfield is very nice and safe with plenty of stores and restaurants and of course the beach is just a few miles from campus. There is a strong alumni network and career development center. 98% of students are employed or in graduate school within 6 months after graduation.
