Which of these two laptops should I get?

Hi, so I'm stuck choosing between two laptop models: this one or this one.

I'm hoping somebody with a bit more knowledge in computers can help me choose (or maybe point me in another direction for a computer of roughly the same price). If you're wondering how I came to these two decisions, these were the main factors:

15.6" screen size

Large screen resolution (I do a lot of digital art so this is a must)

Lots of hard disk space

Purportedly long, 9 hour battery life (I'm willing to sacrifice some battery life for performance and I am aware that it'll probably actually be something like 3-4 hours)

A lot of highly rated reviews

Sort of expensive but not ridiculously so (Maybe I'm being stupid but I always equate more money=more longevity)

Basically these were the only things that I cared about/understood out of all the specs. I'm a layman in terms of computer hardware so it'd be great if, looking at all the other things these computers differ in one another, someone can make a recommendation out of the two. Or if someone who has actually had some experience with any of these two laptops that could share a few pointers...

Thanks!

The first one has a better CPU (Ivy Bridge vs. Sandy Bridge) and a faster GPU (Nvidia’s Kepler series just came out recently). The battery capacity is a bit lower but the components themselves have lower requirements (you can’t really tell from the specs, it needs to be tested). It appears that the second one has an IPS display (they’re better), but [this review](<a href=“Notebookcheck - Page not Found!”>HP Envy 15-3040nr Laptop Review - NotebookCheck.net Reviews) claims that it has color accuracy problems (and it’s glossy, which is annoying (the first one claims to be an anti-glare screen)).
If I were to choose I would get the first one.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation. I was also leaning towards the first one but the nice design of the Envy always made me think twice.

You shouldn’t trust the reviews come from their own site, amazon is where the review least deceptive http://www.amazon.com/HP-ENVY-15-3040NR-Laptop-Silver/dp/B006PCDJI2
