Which of these UC schools is best for a major in psychology?

Davis
Irvine
Merced
Riverside
San Diego
Santa Barbara
Santa Cruz

My ultimate goal is to become a psychiatrist so I want to major in psychology while satisfying the pre-med requirements. So which school is best for a psychology major? Thanks in advance.

UCB is the best

Based on the schools you listed and your plan for psychiatry pre med type stuff, I would say UC San Diego or UC irvine. These two have fansastic medical facilities and such. I want to major in psych and go to grad school for clinical psych so I am leaning heavily towards transferring to either Cal or UCLA. Maybe you could consider these too (even though it’s pretty competitive and there’s no TAG).

^Yeah, it’s definitely competiyive to transfer there as much as it is to get in as a freshman. But I assume that anyone who asks “what’s tge best uc psychology program in the UCs” must realize that the best is also normally the most competitive.

thanks for answering everyone!
what is clinical psychology exactly? and do you have to go to med school for that?

To “gettinthatfosho”: so your in community college right now?

:)

Santa Cruz, but classes are difficult to get

uc riverside has a great program & will open their med school next yr (hopefully)

And yeah…just google uc Berkeley or UCLA transfer addmissions. All UCs are REQUIRED to consider community college transfers first so even those statistics…which for most majors means a higher acceptance rate than freshman applications!
