Hi everyone :)
I'm currently a sophomore, and I'm trying to figure out my plans for this summer. I've been accepted into the "Governor's school" (funding was cut by the state, so now it's run by a university, but it's referred to as the former Governor's school) for medicine. I also have been in contact with my friend's dad, who conducts cancer research at a lab. He invited me to research at his lab this summer.

Basically, I'm trying to decide between the two choices. I think that the Governor's school would give me more of a feel for college life (and would be a better social experience), where as the research would obviously be very intellectually-stimulating, and it's an experience that I would like to have.

I want to go into medicine, and intend on applying to top-tier schools. My question is, which one would be more appealing to one of these colleges? Also, should I do the Gov school program this year and just research next summer, or would it be better to have two summers doing research?

Thanks so much!
