which one should i go too... im really confused please help me out!!!

should i select university of wisconsin/ university of washington/ Purdue university
for computer science…help would be appreciated!!

Are there huge cost differences between the three schools?

Are you directly admitted to the U Washington’s CS department? Otherwise, I’d keep in mind that if you attend, you must apply to be admitted to the CS major at the end of your freshman year and even then, it’s highly competitive.

Wisconsin and Purdue are well-respected in the CS fields. If cost isn’t an issue AND if you don’t want to risk not being granted the CS major at UW, I’d attend one of those two.

70% students who aren’t direct admits and try to get into CS at UWA fail to gain access to their majors. There are other possibilities, but… if you’re not a direct admit, the risk’s not worth it in my opinion.
UWisconsin has an EXCELLENT and very well recruited CS program , plus its location (Madison) is considered one of the top colleges towns (if not THE college town) in the country. Between Purdue and UWisconsin, I’d pick U Wisconsin.
Now… costs are a huge consideration. How much does each cost if you only subtract scholarships and grants, not any loan, from the cost of attendance?

All three schools are excellent. I would advise students who are not direct admits but wish to study computer science or computer engineering at the University of Washington to estimate where they stand in relation to the academic credentials of the average admitted student and self-assess their willingness to dedicate themselves to their studies before they simply throw in the towel. I would advise this especially for students who (1) have been admitted to the Honors Program, (2) have been awarded merit scholarships, or (3) otherwise have GPAs, SATs and/or ACTs at or above the 75th percentile of the entering class. If you fall into one or more of these categories and are serious about your studies, your chances of graduating with the coveted UWA CS/CE degree are high.

thanks a lot for your valuable comments!! i have decided to go to the university of wisconsin. as asked by most you university of washingtons tuition is approx 33k, purdue 31k and university of wisconsin 26k

university of washington made it clear that the same standards would be used to consider transfer and existing students for CS department so instead of going there on a premajor (a very risky thing) i would go to u of wisconsin and then apply for the cs dept of university of washington after my first year and try my chances!

very smart decision!

^ Agreed. Good luck, acebuck9999!
