Which one would you chose...prestige or a scholarship?

Here is a quick question that I know some of you will have to face. When you get your acceptance letters and have to chose between going to a more prestigious school and taking out loans or a less prestigious school on a full ride scholarship, which would it be? Your input would be very much appreciated.

How much more is "more prestigious"?

let's say just as an example..you get accepted into UCI and CAL..the acceptance from UCI carries a full scholarship and the acceptance from CAL does not so you need to take out staudent loans. What would be your best option?

Definitely prestige. Yeah, it might just be a name, but it's the name that pays off later on. Plus, you can always say, "I went to..."

Depends on your major.

I'd choose prestige since tuition isn't much of an issue to me.

prestige. Easily

If the school is prestigious because it has outstanding academics, particularly in my major, then I'd choose that. On the other hand tuition hasn't been a problem for me, so it might be different if I had to pay my own way.

prestigious.. money is not a problem

i feel a little different from the rest of you...
if it's undergrad, i think i'd go for scholarship
because sadly, money IS an issue for me.

plus, i think you could do much better from so called "less prestigious" school and excel in grad school.. you might have a better chance after all.
you never know.

unless the gap is enormously huge
and the "less prestigious school" has really no point of going,
i would go for scholarship.
UCI isn't bad at all though it may not be the best.
i don't think it's a bad idea :)

in my case, if i don't get any fin aid, i'm not even gonna consider the school no matter how "prestigious" they are..
that's an important factor for me, again, sadly..:(
