Which One?

If you got into all these schools and money wasn't an issue, which would you choose and why: Harvard, Yale, Stanford.

Princeton.

Harvard's undergrad isn't my piece of cake.
Yale is in a ghetto.
Stanford just sucks.

:p

guffaw. Princeton (while not a choice) is fourth to those schools. DEFINATELY. I applied to all 3 (4 w Princeton), and i've been thinking about the same improbable dilema. i think i would choose harvard first, stanford second, and yale third. (yale might be second if i didn't live in CA).

You're entitled to your opinion. The undergraduate environment at Princeton is second to none, and ultimately the reason I chose it.

I don't know anything about Princeton or Stanford (didn't apply to either). Even if I get into Harvard, chances are that I'm probably going to Yale because of the sense of community, attention to undergrads, etc. Maybe I'm biased, but Yale ppl just seem so happy.

I applied to all 3 (and Princeton, since Princeton seems to keep coming up). I would definately choose Yale because of the overall undergraduate experience -- rated #1 by undergrads in "The Best 351 Colleges (2004)." And I love the campus.

Princeton

Go Tigers.

Wow, lots of Princeton fans. Elevenbanks, what are your reasons for your order?

what's the purpose of applying to all 3?

Keynes1105:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=prestige+whore

Some people are, some people aren't.

That's not true. I didn't apply to all 3 simpy for prestige. Yes, maybe a little bit, but I also think Stanford and Yale are really good fits for me, and Harvard... ok, I admit, that one was prestige.

Harvard.
of course, you're asking the people on the Harvard board.

not Yale, because I don't like New Haven (though, admittedly, the residential colleges look pretty cool)
and not Stanford, because I'm a Californian and maybe it's time for a change of scenery.

Princeton...o yes....o yes

:)

Yale.

Sweet undergrad program, love the colleges, atmosphere, etc. I also love how Yalies love their school. It's endearing. And I like the school colors, and the bulldog. :) Second would be a tie between Princeton and Harvard. As a whole, I prefer Princeton(undergrad program, atmosphere...same reasons why I love Yale...), but that preppy sort of attitude and the eating houses are an almost unforgivable turn-off. I like Harvard's location, housing system, and low preppy quotient. Don't like how little it focuses on undergrad, though. Last is Stanford. Little focus on undergrads, sketchy housing system, West Coast, huge classes, TAs...I could go on and on. But hey, the campus is pretty and there's loads of grade inflation.

I applied to all four of them. Yale and Princeton because I like them and they suit me, Stanford due to a bout of temporary insanity, and Harvard because it's sort of like Yale and (frankly) because of prestige whoring.

PS: Just to settle the score on New Haven. I've been there, visiting Yale. The area around Yale is very nice, and based on what I've seen of the rest of the city, New Haven in general isn't as bad as you all are making it out to be. I'm not going to lie to you, New Haven is not Boston or New York, but it's about as good as Providence.

Harvard- it has some of the best professors in the world. It is also in Cambridge, a nice city-like area.

Stanford I hear is a little stuck up
Yale - ghettoish area
Princeton- stuck up

But who knows, in the end its all a personal preference
If we ask eachother, its not like we're going to come up with one unified answer.

Finally, its a dream to get into all three (or 4) schools. lol. But good luck to you all

fyi just about stanford, they have totally revamped their undergrad program, now it has an awesome undergrad focus, freshman and sophomore seminars, and the housing system isn't sketch, it just doesn't have the residential college system, it is more like a "normal" college. also, out of all 3, harvard has the most big classes w/ TAs and grade inflation. but yeah, just my opinion.

what about columbia?

Yale- I like the residential college system, and it just has a certain aura about it

Princeton- I don't like the idea of eating clubs, and it seems to come off with this elitist attitude

Stanford-If I could physically push it into the midwest or northeast I would probably like it better, I'm just not much for warm weather.

Harvard- too many TA's from what I've heard, and that's something I'd rather avoid
