Hey guys! So this might come of as silly to some but I'll go ahead and ask nevertheless. I am a US citizen living abroad and that gives me the opportunity to attend either the summer or international orientation. I have heard people say that the early dates give you the benefits of surely getting classes and other registering priorities. The earliest I can attend is the second last summer orientation (22nd July). Should I register for the 22nd one or the international (Aug 18)?

Thank you so much!! :)

My advice would be just to do the international one and save the trip-- there will not be much difference between the last summer session and your session. Typically they save some slots in GE classes for each orientation so that each group has some access to them. Those who go to earlier orientations and cannot get the class they want because it is full can always try to get in during the open period when the following orientations take place (if they are smart and figure this out). But, there won’t be much difference between the last summer session and the international one in terms of registration-- not enough to make an expensive trip in July. There will be classes with space (maybe not at 11am or the specific class that is really popular) and you will have advising help.
