This is the calendar for the orientations last year. Does it affect me in anyway if i choose the first orientation or the last orientation? I heard from my friends that there will not be as many classes available if I go to the last session. i am planning on traveling out of country. should i stay until july and attend the orientation first or should i come back before august and do it then?

Take the earliest orientation that you can. Otherwise, it will be slightly stressful trying to organize your class schedule when most of the good times have been taken up already.

the classes that you get at orientation will be affecting you until december.
...so you don't want to be stuck with 8am classes or a really noncohesive schedule just because of traveling during the summer. i mean, TRAVEL, but if you can put it off, do xD

I went to the first orientation, and my roommate went to the last one. My first quarter schedule was neat and compact, and she'd have days starting at 9 and ending at 6 with enormous, wasteful breaks in between classes.

you really hurt yourself with going to a later orientation session. you end with a crappy courseload your first quarter at UCLA. it is not going to feel fun at all.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is to go to an early one. Even by the third one, my friends have told me they couldn't get into certain classes that they wanted. Although I had priority enrollment for winter and spring quarter, I got my best schedule through orientation.
