..as part of the formula for an applicants Academic Index? Is it the composite or do they only look at certain subjects like most schools ignore SAT writing?

depends on what school you are trying to get into…each school have their own equation for calculating your index.

correct me if i’m wrong, but none of them look at composite scores based on what I have seen. Your rank makes up the majority of the equation(1-(rank/size)). And most of them look at EngWrt and math for ACT, ignoring reading and science.

For SAT, they do look at writing. Math is the most important part, the CR is not a major part of the equation at all. If i read the equation correctly, Cockrell engineering does not even look at the CR…only writing and math. While Business multiple the CR by 0.001, math by 0.003, writing by 0.002 or something like that…

OK thanks I had seen a formula out there but i wasn’t exactly sure what i was looking at. Glad to see that 36 Reading score wont be included at all :/

I have just double checked, and yes, unfortunately reading and science are not part of the equation for any school…

you can look them up yourself by searching HB588 report 13 for UT Austin, and scroll to the bottom of it, it shows the regression equation used to calculate your achievement index for all schools

EDIT: Found it for you, here
