I am a Sweet Briar transfer and I have it narrowed down to…
Salem College- I’m leaning towards this one because of location, the beautiful campus, the friendly people, deep history, has my program, the archivist is kind, also has arts management and design as pluses. The lower cost is good too. Teach-out school so my gpa and everything will transfer smoothly and have at least a couple SBC students there so I’m not alone.
Agnes Scott College- has my major, not my minor or certificate. Farther away but definently doable. Near one of my old high school buddy at Emory. Pretty campus and buildings, rural campus in a cityish area. Seems like the stronger school of the south. Teach out school.
Wellesley- this is really my perfect world school but it is really far away. Are the women here snooty? Possible culture shock with all the New England people. That’s over exaggerated of course. sadly, not a teach out. Pricey. Good alum connections.
Hollins- has my major and certificate, not minor but possible to keep it. Teach-out. Always 2nd place to SBC. If I go there I would be constantly reminded that they were our enemies at one time. Strong faculty in my major.
Mary Baldwin- super strong faculty in my area and related areas and a teach out. Need to visit. Sadly, located in upper VA which is not somewhere I want to be. costy.
I also would like a place with great internships opportunities and location near an area with a lot of artsy things going on. I love the location of Salem being near Winston-Salem, for example. Please help me discover about these schools and pick one! You’re not making my decision for me, but you are adding to the pro con lists.
Thanks!
