Which class would be better to take during the first semester intro to psychology or cognitive psychology? I'm not a psych. major, i'm trying to pick an interesting elective and I can't decide between the two.

I've heard extremely good things about Cognitive Psychology (85-211 I think)

I really enjoyed congitive psychology (now considering a double major in cognitive science; I'm a CS major). It will have a different professor in the fall, though. Also, both lectures already have waitlists, but since they're large classes you might still be able to get in. One of the advantages of cognitive psychology is that there are no recitations. Also, neural networks are really cool, trust me on that. I took it partially because I decided to avoid intro classes if possible, figuring that the TAs for those classes aren't very happy and that the courses usually try to cover more material than can really be covered in a semester. (85-100, 85-102, world history etc.)
