I need some advice on which SAT IIs to take. I know for sure that I will be taking SAT US History, because I have completed the AP course. I was also thinking Math IC, Lit, or Bio. I haven't had AP Lit or Bio, but I did take a full AP-requisite bio class that covered cell biology, molecular biology, and a lot of taxonomy. Also, would two years of algebra, one year of geometry, and a 710 SAT Math indicate preparedness for the Math IC test?

Bump…

Do not take Math I. It is not taken seriously by most selective universities, which generally prefer math II. Math II has a much more generous curve but the material is definitely tougher. Lit is perhaps the hardest subject test, so I would aboid taking it. I would take Bio (using Barrons SAT II Bio book and collegeboard released tests) or MAth II.

Unless you’re applying Harvard and a few other top schools, (check on this), you only need two SAT II’s. So US history, and definitely Math II, not I. I has almost no curve at all, you need all the questions for an 800, whereas II you can get six wrong and still get the 800.

Since you’re taking U.S. History, there is no need to take Literature. For mathematics, you’re better off taking IIC. Biology is totally fine.

^ yeah. listen to these guys.

people usually take 3 SAT IIs.

math IIc

any science

language / lit / history

is it true that you can get 6 wrong? I thought it was 3 wrong or 6 blank to get an 800 on math2

Yes, indeed it is true that you can get 6 wrong at the most for SAT2 Maths and still get 800.I read it in the Kaplan book
