I am entering my junior year, and I have to decide whether to take the current SAT in the fall or the new SAT in the spring. I’m not fully clear on what changes are being made to the new version. My dream school is Cornell University, and I really want to gain admission to the school. I’m not sure if they’d prefer to see one SAT over the other. Any advice on what I should do? Thanks in advance!
@Lennona52 I wouldn’t worry. Just like the SAT and ACT, both are equally accepted. Many students don’t start preparing for SATs until the spring semester anyways, so I wouldn’t worry.
I would personally try out some practice tests of the current SAT, and if you like it, register for a test and leave room for another one before the new SAT takes over. If the new SAT seems like more of your type of thing, I would obviously wait – there’s plenty of time.
Good luck on your quest to Cornell! They only count the CR+M sections as far as the SAT goes. Try to get a 1400 CR+M score.
All the best,
