Should I take the new SAT or the old one in 2016?

I had a teacher tell me that it’s recommended for me to take the old SAT because of numerous resources available, but I’ve also heard that the new SAT might be easier, too. Should I try both or focus on one? I’m going to be a junior this year and I don’t know if the new SAT will affect my testing in the following months. What should I do?

If I were you, I would go ahead and take it the current way at least once. That way if you compare that to what the new one is supposed to cover, then you might have a better ida of which will benefit you more.

You’re right and do colleges (such as Yale, Cornell, Princeton, etc) look at both SAT & ACT scores then pick out the higher one? How does the testing process work? I’m also thinking about giving ACT a try as well.

You’re required (for most colleges) to submit either the ACT or SAT, but a lot of people submit both. If you submit both, then they consider both equally in the admissions process. A few colleges also require SAT II’s. Are you familiar with them?
