Which SAT subject tests should I take if I want to major in Biochemistry?

Hi, all.

I'm planning on majoring in Biochemistry in college, and I was wondering which subject tests would be best for me to take.

I'm planning on going to one of the UCs. For fall 2012 admissions, they do not require subject tests, though it is somewhat recommended.

In addition, I want to become a Pharmacist after undergrad. Is majoring in Biochemistry recommended or should I major in something else?

lol
biology and chemistry?

lol
obviously german and french

@sinthreck

captain obvious is obvious :)

lol, jk, i think that you need to take everything BUT chemistry and biology, it’s not that you plan to study CHEMBIOLOGY or BIOCHEMISTRY or something like that :)

I was actually leaning towards on taking Math 2 & Biology or Math 2 & Chemistry. So maybe I should just take all 3?

Anyways, thanks for all of your “help”! I’ll be sure to take German, French, and Chinese in October ;)

having two good sat II scores is a must for most schools (idk why UC wouldnt have a requirement but okay…), and three is even better. so bio and chem should be first priority, and take Math II if you have time to prepare (YOU NEED TO PRACTICE MATH TO DO WELL ON THIS EXAM). However, it should not be hard if you finished precalc (so ive heard)

haha ye probably bio and chem
math 2 would be beneficial also

You don’t need to take both Bio and Chem. I’d definitely take Math II if you’re going to apply to anywhere besides UCs, and then pick either Bio or Chem, depending on which one you’ve got better preparation in. I’m in an eight-year pre-med program at Brown University and I didn’t bother taking the Chem test, and it’s totally fine.
