Hello!

I am a sophomore student; I am planning to take various SAT Subject Tests but I do not know what to take specifically. My goal is to become molecular virologist, so I am determing to take both SAT Biology E and SAT Biology M. If I am going to univerisity that focuses on the science & mathematics, do I have to take SAT World History and US History?

I don’t think most colleges will accept both Bio-E and Bio-M scores so you’re better off just taking one. You don’t necessarily have to take a history SAT unless the college specifically asks for it. But if you think you can do well, it’ll show you’re well-rounded, which isn’t a bad thing.

If you’re positive you want to go into a science field, I’d suggest bio, math, and chem or physics.

Most top colleges want to see 2 subject tests. It looks better if they are from different subjects IF you have similar scores in the two subjects. For example, if you took 3 tests, Bio-E, Chem and Math II and got 800, 760 and a 750 respectively, you would probably want to submit Bio-E and Math II. Also, colleges will only accept either Bio-E or M, but not both.
