Which sat vocab book is better? (sat cartoons)

I've read many good reviews about these 3 books to help me memorize SAT vocab. Which book do you think gets the best result in the number of words memorized? How many words from each book actually appear on the real SAT?

P.S. I'm taking the SAT in Oct. 2014.

Vocabulary Cartoons II: SAT Word Power

VS

Direct Hits Core Vocabulary of the SAT: Volume 1

VS

500 Key Words for the SAT, and How to Remember Them Forever!

I’d just go for direct hits. The memorization part is mostly up to you in the end.

The Essential 500 Words really helped my a lot on yesterday’s test. Lots of correct answers and it’s the updated version of Direct Hits I think

Thanks acbyrne! I’ll check out The Essential 500 Words and see how it compares with the others.

Essential is the best; it’s more updated than Direct Hits, and raised my mark in CR by 130 points in just a month
