It’s not “pointless”to apply. If you are accepted, they will meet your need.
BUT your application list should NOT be just schools like this that are not a sure thing.

So 10k is not enough for college in the USA ?
If I apply to a need blind or aware school early will it increase the chances of paying less for college because of the increased acceptance rate or are they likely to defer me to the regular decision pool.
I will have to ask my mum if she can increase the amount she will pay but I dont think so.
You seem to have significant financial need. I would suggest you NOT apply early DECISION anywhere. If you apply ED, you will have one acceptance (hopefully) with that financial aid award. You will have no ability to compare your net costs amongst other offers.
If any of your schools have early ACTION, you could apply EA. You would still continue to apply to other schools regular decision in that case.
$10,000 won’t cover the cost of attendance at any college for you…when living expenses are also added in…UNLESS you get the remaining money in the form of financial aid. That would be possible at schools that meet full need, or schools that provide significant merit for your stats. But without that SAT score…it’s all a shot in the dark!
Okay thats true
The websites are above for the schools that meet full aid right ?
Which websites are you talking about? There have been about a dozen linked.
Really…some of those websites have info about merit awards from colleges that do NOT meet full need for all.
I was asking which specific websites above have colleges that meet full aid but ill just have to do the research
Thanks I really appreciate it
The thing is…as an international student, you first have to figure out where you have a reasonable chance of acceptance (actually…any college prospective student needs to do that). Right now, you don’t have a SAT score…so really it’s all guessing.
The colleges that guarantee to meet full need for all accepted international students SND are need blind for admissions are five in number.
There are more colleges that guarantee to meet full need for all accepted international students…but for admission…the ability to pay will be considered.
The above…need based aid is what I’m talking about.
Many of the top schools here that meet full need don’t provide any merit aid at all…and their acceptance rates hover around 10% of applicants…not a sure thing really for most anyone.
Then there are schools that give merit aid to international students.
Some schools offer only limited aid to international students.
Some schools offer NO financial assistance to international students at all…and the are pretty clear about that.
Yes…you need to check the websites for colleges that interest you.
Once you HAVE your SAT score, my bet is folks here will be very willing to point you in the direction of colleges where your financials will be dealt with well.
