Which schools have the best Latin American studies programs?

Title basically sums it up...

Ohio State University: Center for Latin American Studies
Stanford University: Stanford Latin American Center
Tulane University of Louisiana: Stone Center for Latin American Studies
University of Arizona: Arizona Latin American Center
University of California-Berkeley: Center for Latin American Studies
University of California-Los Angeles: Latin American Institute

There may be others. For example, if you had an interest in Brazil, Brown has a strong Department of Portuguese & Brazilian Studies. It also has a Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies, just not one of the ones designated as a National Resource Center.

Thanks so much!! That was extremely helpful.

Princeton University has an amazing Latin American Studies Program.

i don’t want to be mean, but it will be really hard to get a job with that degree…either at the BA or MA level, you might want to study something else along with it or double major…

Don’t listen to ZipZip. I majored in LAS and have never had a problem finding jobs. I work for a non-profit that does a lot of work in South America. In the past I did film consulting, translation services, and Spanish/Portuguese tutoring, but I’m happiest with what I’m doing now. I’m not driving a luxury car or “making it rain” at the club, but I’m living comfortably and doing what I love.
