It appears that Marymount Manhattan requires a pre-screen for regional auditions only.

anyone get any results yet from pre-screens? we just heard from Otterbein with good news. Hoping to hear the same from her other schools.

Okay dramamom5, you all are ALL OVER THIS! We haven’t done the prescreen yet. Congrats on the good news!

dramamom5…I second the congrats…and we are halfway done with recording our cuts. I just wish there were more hours in the day…sigh

Congrats to your daughter, dramamom! Which Otterbein audition date is she doing?

Yay Dramamom! What a great feeling!!!

I’d like to add more information about Central Florida that I just found out from Earl Weaver. (see bottom of post)

Here is my original post (#60)

The UCF MT program’s open audition day (i.e. no pre-screening) is Saturday, January 18th. Appointments for this day are on a first come, first- served basis and must be requested no later than November 2nd. However, our preferred method for students to submit a pre-screen video via Acceptd. We will start accepting the required materials as outlined on the site on September 15th. Students receiving callbacks will be notified throughout the fall term up through the final deadline of January 15th. Callbacks will be available on February 1st and February 22nd on our main campus.

New info:

RE: Auditioning at the January 18th “open call.”

Students seen on January 18 in person who are considered finalists for the program WILL be asked to come to a callback in February. If student is unable to come to a callback day, UCF will do their best to evaluate his/her skills when seen in person, but student will be at a disadvantage since UCF will not be able to see him/her again with all the finalists.

Very interesting comment. I am a theatre teacher in a performing arts academy trying to get in front of this rise in prescreen requirements. What is your alma mater and can you tell me the company that you referred to? Thanks for any help you can give. I am searching for a COMPLETE list of ALL schools requiring prescreens in order to facilitate my students for next year. Thanks for any help you can give!

Victoriapero, the list on this thread is the compilation of information that a lot of people have contributed based on their own research. A comprehensive “official” list is unlikely to exist–at any rate, it’s a moving target, as more and more schools add a prescreen requirements every year. It would be realistic and wise to encourage your students to begin researching the schools that interest them and to be sure to double-check, both this year and in the fall, for any prescreen requirements. The list posted here is a good starting point, though!

Baldwin Wallace indicated they are moving to prescreens next year.

Does anyone have an updated list of schools that require prescreens for 2017 admissions? Interested in coming up with a list for both Drama and MT. Thanks! So far, on my list of possibilities, I know:

NYU/Steinhardt
Otterbein University - (Acting and MT)
Pace University - (Acting and MT)
Baldwin Wallace?

This thread is pretty old and the requirements change every year. For example, last year Baldwin Wallace and Elon started prescreens, this year they stopped requiring them. Syracuse required prescreens this year for the first time. Perhaps if you start a new thread you will get current info as it is today, but keep in mind by August things may have changed. The best way to get the most up to date information is to go the websites of the schools on your list.

And they don’t use DVDs anymore either.

Does everyone use Accept’d?

@remartin67 Usually either Accept’d or Decision Desk, though some have there own “upload” to their websites.
