Which schools to pick/visit for IR? help ASAP, leaving Wed

Hey, so I got accepted to the following schools (and more but these are the ones I'm looking the most at) as an International Relations major:

Boston College- I know they're really good for poli sci, but don't know anything about IR really, anyone familiar with how good it is?
Carnegie Mellon
Brandeis- same as BC
Northeastern Honors Program
Holy Cross- Same as BC
NYU

Waitlist:
Johns Hopkins
UChicago
Tufts
-yeah, all my best schools for IR I got waitlisted at, ha, fml. Will definitely be switching schools if I get off the waitlist at one

Anyways, I know NYU is really good for IR but I would have 80k in loans upon graduation so I figured that's out of the question. I'm still waiting on BC, CMU, and HC for fin aid. My top choice is Boston College, but I don't know how good they are for IR, so I don't know if I should go to them or CMU since I know they are good for IR. Also, I have Northeastern to consider, I can get my masters in 5 years there and they have the awesome co-op program but aren't known for IR so I don't know. Do I go to the school with the better program and name brand (BC, CMU) or Northeastern where it has the best job connections/co-ops/internships? But I also want to go to law school afterwards so idk! Any help/input is greatly appreciated! I need to know where I should be spending most of my time for my upcoming college visits!

As a Holy Cross grad, and the father of one, I think HC’s singular focus on the liberal arts is the best training for anyone for any job. Obviously I am biased–but I don’t think I’m very far off the mark. As far as international relations, it’s interesting to note that the Director General of the U.S. Foreign Service (U.S. State Dept) is a Holy Cross grad, Harry Thomas of the HC Class of 1978. Below is a link to an article on him on the HC website. Holy Cross has always had an outsized presence in the U.S. government, for example today HC grads hold four seats in Congress and one in the U.S. Senate. I’d guess, with only 535 total reps/senators that very few other schools can boast of thast, particularly schools with only about 30,000 living alumni.

As far as Law School goes, Holy Cross does mighty well there also. Among prominent HC grad attorneys are the famed Edward Bennett Williams, R.I.P., said to be America’s #1 trial lawyer in his day; current Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas; and Ted Wells, the man to see among criminal lawyers in DC, and many, many others.

I urge you to take a campus visit–you will fall in love with Holy Cross.

I heard that NYU has a very good IR program. It’s in New York and close to UN headquarters, so you can’t go wrong with that.
I’d make that your top choice unless you get off any school on that waitlist ;)

If financial aid were not a consideration, among the group of schools you were admitted to I’d choose Brandeis.
