Which schools would be best for Econ major?

Cornell
NYU CAS (not stern)
Upenn (not wharton)
Brown
Dartmouth

which of these schools would you attend for an economics major?

Cornell ..

ditto for Cornell

I disagree; I'd say Dartmouth.

princeton and harvard duhhhhh

I am leaning towards Cornell, but I have heard very good things about the NYU Econ department

if u can handle the workload, UChicago has an excellent economics program

i say Cornell in part due to the tremendous number of courses an econ major can take...

There's the classic "economics" major in the college of Arts and Sciences. For undergraduates, there's about 75-80 classes to choose from.

There's also the "applied economics and management" major in the college of agricultural and life sciences. This is the only other accredited ivy-league business program besides Wharton. There's hundreds of classes in this program to choose from, and many do deal with the principles of economics.

there's also a department of labor economics in the school of industrial and labor relations. here, there's about 25-30 more courses offered that focus on economics.

Not to mention that there's probably (to lazy to look) some econ classes offered by the school of hotel management.

I'd just choose which school appeals to you most overall. Where would you make the most of the opportunities? They're all good.

Of those schools, Penn's econ department has the best rep.

But if you're considering schools as selective as Brown, Dartmouth and Penn, you should also consider applying to Chicago, Northwestern, Williams, etc...
